Hi, I'm Josephine, former Fashion Stylist, founder of Sunday and Story and proud Mum of three!
Sunday and Story is an incredibly small rug and interiors business based on the South East Coast run solely by myself with the help of two part time assistants.
My passion for all things Moroccan started 25 years ago during a fashion shoot just outside Marrakech. In particular I was drawn to the vintage rugs with their nod towards folk art and the bohemian.
Sunday and Story predominantly stock sustainable vintage pieces that are all sourced from the mid Atlas region of Morocco. Various styles include Beni Ourian, Beni Mrirt, Boujad, Taznakt, Kilim, Boucherouite, Azilal and Ourika rugs. Each piece was lovingly handmade in a time that no longer exists and this obviously makes them even more special and truly unique. Most rugs I source are from the 1960’s onwards but Sunday and Story do also stock lots of new rugs. The vintage rugs are my passion and I am constantly amazed by their beauty.
More recently I designed a collection of rugs that are being hand woven in Morocco. These are the most beautiful quality Beni Mrirt rugs. The vision is to produce a collection solely made by a large Women’s Collective of highly skilled female weavers in Morocco.
Sunday and Story also stock Moroccan pouffes, cushions and raffia bags plus a new Jute range of rugs and doormats, again, designed by myself and hand made by wonderful Artisans in India. These come in a range of sizes and designs but can also be made to order. Please do email for a quote.
Sunday and Story also offer a sourcing service. Please get in touch if you are looking for something specific or just can’t quite make your mind - I would love to help you out with that part!
I particularly love to see items and rugs nestled into their new abodes and hope they grace your homes for a long time to come. Thank you all for shopping small!
